Prompt

Inspired by a powerful quote by the late Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor and Nobel laureate, this year’s essay contest prompt asks students to reflect on a story, book, or person that has influenced their thinking about ethical decision-making.

Prizes

With the generous support of Holland & Knight Charitable Foundation’s Holocaust Remembrance Project, Facing History is excited to offer $25,000 in scholarships and awards to students and their educators. We will have three overall winners and seven finalists.

Educator Resources

To help educators bring the contest into their classroom, we are offering suggestions for lessons and activities teachers can use to help their students explore the themes and ideas suggested by the prompt.
