Individual Services to Build Deeper Learning Capacity

New Tech Network’s individual services are a selection of professional development services designed to build educator capacity and develop leadership skills that enable schools to strengthen instruction, culture, assessment, and college and career readiness. At NTN, we believe that in order to ensure each student develops outcomes that matter, their learning experiences must exhibit conditions that reflect deeper learning. Those deeper learning conditions are: authentic, active, relational, responsive and complex.

Services for Leaders and Leadership Teams

Schools face ongoing challenges spanning culture, instruction, and college/career outcomes. NTN has utilized Improvement Science techniques for the past 10 years to offer a structured approach to problem-solving and change management. This workshop guides school teams in applying improvement science to enhance a specific area, aiming to not only solve immediate problems but also build proficiency in improvement science practices. Our experience with this approach has demonstrated outcomes, including fostering a culture of continuous improvement, enabling lasting positive changes in school and districts. Participants gain tools and insights for designing an equitable process for improvement by centering what works and for whom.

The New Tech Network Leadership Practices is a virtual workshop designed to support school leadership teams in understanding key leader practices critical in supporting teachers in implementing New Tech Network’s Learner-Centered Practices. Participants in this training experience four, two-hour virtual learning sessions with an NTN facilitator to build an understanding of how to lead the sustained implementation of an innovative strategy. This service is available only to schools who are engaged in a Learner-Centered Practices workshop.

Services for Educators and Classroom Instruction

Implementing high quality and engaging project-based learning (PBL) requires a strong capacity for project-design. This workshop provides educators with a foundational guide for meaningful and equitable PBL. Participants gain essential knowledge and skills across content areas, exploring core principles, strategies, and best practices. The workshop emphasizes building meaningful and authentic project experiences, creating engaging driving questions, designing effective project plans, and scaffolding activities to foster critical thinking and collaboration. This workshop culminates with teachers feeling empowered and confident in implementing immersive, project-based learning experiences aligned with learning standards.

Services for District and Instructional Coaching

New Tech Network’s Coach Development Program 101 is an online year-long course designed for instructional coaches and teacher leaders that builds local capacity within a district or school to support teacher development in project-based and problem-based instruction. This one-year program is designed for instructional staff who support continuous adult learning and utilizes a monthly virtual workshop model as part of a national cohort which allows for shared learning and collaborative reflections on coaching practices . Learning targets focus on coaching skills, strategies, iterative learning, and mindsets while supporting facilitation of a project-based learning (PBL)/problem-based learning (PrBL) classroom environment.

Coach Development Program 201 is an online advanced coaching development service designed for district and school instructional coaches and leaders who have completed the CDP 101 program. Building upon the foundation of CDP 101, CDP 201 focuses on the facilitation of adult learning, deepening daily coaching practices focused on student-centered deeper learning, and creating a strong coaching community. This service encourages collaborative learning across districts while empowering them to build internal capacity by translating virtual learning into practical applications within their unique contexts. This program is suited for school teams of two or more who have had at least one member who has completed CDP 101.

Engage with an NTN Director of School Development to work closely with your leadership team to design and support a strategic deeper learning professional learning strategy for your school or district. This suite of services includes customized planning support through ongoing 1:1 planning calls with the school leadership team and stakeholders and access to NTN deeper learning resources to build your deeper learning pathway. Your NTN consultant will spend a minimum of one onsite day to be customized to meet the needs of the school or district, may include activities such as:

  • NTN School Tour: guided tour at an NTN school to provide the opportunity to visit classrooms, talk with teachers, students, and school and district leaders.
  • Planning Visit: an onsite visit from an NTN Director of School Development to engage stakeholders, raise awareness, and assess progress toward implementing your deeper learning strategic plan.
