Dr. White is currently employed as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction for Colleton County School District.  She received both a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Arts degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from South Carolina State University in 1990 and 1992, respectively.  She also received a Doctorate degree in Speech Pathology from the University of South Carolina in 2003 and an Educational Specialist degree from South Carolina State University in 2009. Dr. White worked as a speech-language pathologist before transition to a leadership position at the district level.  She previously served as a Special Education Director in two school districts before moving to her current role. She has also worked as a clinical instructor and professor at South Carolina State University and the University of South Carolina.

Dr. White is a member of several professional organizations, many of which she held a leadership position. These include: South Carolina Association of School Administrators Past President, Educational Specialists division, Professional development committee member of National Council of Administrators of Special Education (CASE), South Carolina Council of Administrators of Special Education Vice President, South Carolina Speech, Language and Hearing Association Past President 2010 and Convention Chair, American Speech, Language, and Hearing Associate site visitor for Council of Academic Accreditation. Dr. White has also served on a variety of Task Forces for the South Carolina State Department of Education.
