Improving College and Career Ready Outcomes for Students
Supporting students in planning for college and career is a key responsibility of schools, but often efforts are disconnected and not strategically coordinated to deliver improved outcomes for students. This year-long coaching support program helps leadership teams improve and implement a school-wide system of postsecondary supports. Using Improvement Science tools, skills, and mindsets, participants will analyze student data, build a dedicated postsecondary leadership team, and scale proven practices to ensure all students are empowered to graduate college and career ready.
This evidence-based approach was developed from a 5-year initiative, funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, in which NTN designed and led a network of 49 high schools to increase postsecondary enrollment, persistence, and attainment rates. NTN College Access Network schools realized a 16.5 percentage-point increase in students completing 3+ postsecondary applications, a 19 percentage point jump in FAFSA completion, and a 6.8 percentage-point rise in postsecondary enrollment.
