Approximately 30 parents, school district staff, and community members visited Westwood’s New Tech High School on April 28 to learn more about the rookie school’s curriculum and “New Tech” style of teaching.

The high school, housed inside Robichaud Senior High, is one of 62 schools in 14 states operating on an educational platform that creates a culture of learning centered on the student.

New Tech High Schools promote education through technology in order to prepare graduates to deal with real-life issues in a digitized professional world.

“This has been an educational revolution in the classroom,” said Shannon Smith, director of Westwood’s New Tech program.
