Two of the nation’s 403 Dell Scholars for the 2016-2017 school year are from right here in Manor!

       

 New Tech High School Seniors Alyssa Sumner and Hilda Torres were chosen for the $20,000 Dell Scholarship. NTHS was one of the few public schools nationwide that had more than one recipient.

Applicants had to submit transcripts, answer questions, write an essay, and receive a letter of recommendation from a teacher. As an added bonus, Alyssa and Hilda will also receive a Dell laptop, and will receive mentorship from Dell while they are in college until they receive a bachelor’s degree.

 Alyssa plans to attend Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. Hilda will be attending The University of Texas.
