Senator awards new tech academy $200,000 grant

State Senator James Seward was in Cortland Monday to announce a sizable grant to the area’s newest school.

Seward is a representative for OCM BOCES in the Senate, and helped secure the $200,000 grant for Seven Valleys New Tech Academy. The Academy will serve high school students from all of Cortland County, and will offer teacher training as well.

Seven Valley New Tech Academy is the second New Tech school in Central New York, joining Innovative Tech High School in Liverpool, which was opened in 2014.
