The Goodnight Scholars Program at N.C. State University has announced its Class of 2020. The program is targeted at North Carolina residents from middle-income families who aspire to study in a STEM-related discipline. Area recipients are:
▪ Elizabeth A. Almasy, who will graduate from Hillside New Tech High School and plans to major in environmental science.
▪ Caitlin A. Cassidy, who will graduate from Athens Drive Senior High School and plans to major in biomedical engineering.
▪ Madeleine B. Edwards, who will graduate from Cedar Ridge High School and plans to major in animal science.
▪ Melanie L. Hardee, who will graduate from South Johnston High School and plans to major in human biology.
▪ Ana Iglesias, who will graduate from Millbrook High School and plans to major in engineering.
▪ Noah C. Kiser, who will graduate from Smithfield-Selma High School and plans to major in computer science.
▪ Chandra P. Manivannan, who will graduate from Panther Creek High School and plans to major in biomedical engineering.
▪ Richard T. Marshall, who will graduate from Wake N.C. State University STEM Early College High School and plans to major in computer science.
▪ Miguel A. Martinez-Camposeco, who will graduate from Jordan Matthews High School and plans to major in sustainable materials and technology.
▪ Jalen H. McGee, who will graduate from Hillside High School and plans to major in electrical engineering.
▪ Sean C. Nicol, who will graduate from Leesville Road High School and plans to major in civil engineering.
▪ Jeremy I. Park, who will graduate from Leesville Road High School and plans to major in computer science.
