DOE officials interview Calumet High students, teachers

April 18, 2011

In one room, students in Calumet High School’s Integrated Chemistry and Physics/Industrial Technology class were presenting their projects on nuclear energy. In a small room around the corner, school officials spent 90 minutes presenting their data on student performance and programs that have been put in place to meet state benchmarks and get the school off probation.

Lee Ann Kwiatkowski, Indiana Department of Education director of School Turnaround, along with Matt Voors and David Buskill, who were with the original quality review team that toured the school last fall, spent the day at Calumet High. They sat in classrooms, talked to students and teachers, then met with key administrators and School Board members.
