Belton ISD looking for students for New Tech High School

March 23, 2011

From the outside, Waskow High School doesn’t appear to be a modern building, but soon the learning going on inside will be far from old-fashioned.

When the next school year begins, the Belton Independent School District will join more than a half dozen schools across the state to be a part of the New Tech High network. Currently, there are only seven like it across the state.

The new Belton New Tech High School will welcome 125 incoming freshman next year.

Tuesday night, the district held an informational meeting for parents and students interested in applying.

Parent Lindsey Williams showed up in search of answers on what her son could expect from the school if he gets in.

“I’d like to know how many students there is going to be per teacher, the things that they’ll get to do there, and how it’s different from the other school,” she said.
